Lhabab Düchen is one of the four major Buddhist holy days. On this day, meritorious actions multiply ten million times: a good day for practice, generosity, and kind actions. Soon after his enlightenment, Shakyamuni Buddha ascended to the Heaven of the Thirty-Three to give teachings to his mother, Queen Mayadevi, who died in childbirth. With his compassionate awakening, he was called to repay her kindness. This celebratory day marks the moment that Buddha descended from the Heaven Realm on a celestial ladder, surrounded by devotees and rainbows. This extraordinary event is one of the eight great deeds in the life of the Buddha.
